The New Music Seminar is an annual showcase in New York City for independent rock bands and labels; this particular poster was for a Matador Records night at CBGB's, the legendary New York home of punk rock. We dramatically enlarged the found image so that the Ben Day dots became as much a part of the design as the image itself. Also, red and black have traditionally been powerful and angry colors which seemed appropriate for this bill. Both the Unsane and Urge Overkill have pages on the Web.
