The Canine Resource and Referral Helpline -- a free helpline which is sponsored by the American Dog Trainers Network -- was founded in 1987 to assist the general public and media with all aspects of information pertaining to dogs, and to offer referrals to a wide variety of dog-related professionals, services and organizations throughout North America.

 

The helpline staff is devoted to educating the public about virtually all aspects of raising and training dogs. They offer information regarding:

    Because of the great diversity of training methods available, the helpline staff takes great effort to refer the most reputable, experienced, ethical and humane dog trainers possible, and strongly encourages the use of positive, motivational training methods.
     

    The helpline's telephone number is (212) 727-7257,
    and its hours of operation are between 1PM and 3PM (EST),
    7 days per week.
