Julie
Holland, MD
A
graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Medical
School, Dr. Julie Holland has been in private practice since 1996. Her office
is conveniently located in midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station.
Dr. Holland has a strong background in psychopharmacology and general
psychiatry. After completing her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York
City, she was an attending physician at the psychiatric emergency room at
Bellevue hospital for nine years. She is familiar and comfortable working with
all psychiatric diagnoses and treatments.
She
will work in concert with your therapist to ascertain if medicine or
nutritional supplements can help treat your symptoms. Sometimes a short trial
of a low dose of antidepressant can help with symptoms of anxiety, depression,
and insomnia; in other cases, a mood stabilizer will work better than an
antidepressant, even when depression is the chief complaint.
At
the initial visit, a full history including genetic inventory (family history
of psychiatric complaints), medication and drug history will help to determine
the treatment plan.
Initial
consultations take 45 to 60 minutes, and follow up visits are 20 to 30 minutes
long. Dr. Holland is not in any insurance networks. You will be provided with a
receipt so you can get insurance reimbursement, but payment is expected at the
time of your visits.
Feel
free to contact Dr. Holland to set up an initial consultation.
