They farmed again for 10 years, then 1941 they both worked in Oklahoma City at Douglas Aircraft till he died in 1944. She lived at Stratford, McGee and Ada, and took care of Lavinia's children and Bill after Lavinia's death in 1959. After Don left home, Ova lived alone in Ada until she died in 1976. She had a big garden in her back yard and loved to work in it and her yard. When she was in the house her hands were busy knitting and crocheting - and cooking good meals for her children to come and eat. She was busy with her church and neighbors. She was a hard worker and a wonderful mother. 'I think she lived a good life even tho some of it was hard. She left her mark!' (Daughter Lorena, 1989 & 1993). He Ernest farmed east of Chickasha for several years, but was forced to give up farming because of a heart problem. He then attended college in Edmond OK and after graduation moved to Hanford CA where he was a teacher and then a counselor until his retirement.

Wilma Pexton Wilma is a warm and loving person and has always seemed as much a part of the Penny family as if she were born into it. I believe she was also a teacher for a time. She was born on 30 Apr 1911 at Oakley, KS.
